On April 17th, 2025, Myles and Simonie eloped—just the two of them, no witnesses, no officiant—only God, high on Flagstaff Mountain in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.
The day before, they landed in Colorado and made their way to a cozy Airbnb tucked in the mountains. They had a Zoom call scheduled with the Clerk and Recorder’s office to get their marriage license, and once that wrapped up, the race was on to pick it up before 5 p.m. Myles navigated the curvy mountain roads in their old rental Subaru like a scene out of an action movie, and when they finally arrived, Simonie sprinted to the door—only to hear it click shut just as she got there. Thankfully, after banging on the door someone let her in just in time to grab the license!
That night, in true Myles and Simonie fashion, they decided to finally write their vows. Myles fell asleep mid-vow-writing—classic Myles—but Simonie finished hers. The next morning, they enjoyed yogurt parfaits and mimosas while reminiscing on their journey together. Myles finished his vows, then came getting ready—Simonie used up all the hot water, leaving Myles with an icy shower—but he survived.
They shared a sweet first look before heading up the mountain. Myles had bought his suit the weekend before, but somehow lost his tie, so a quick stop for a new one was in order—along with a Trader Joe’s cake and some baby’s breath flowers (since the bouquet Simonie made was accidentally left behind at the Airbnb).
Once they reached Flagstaff Mountain, they found the perfect, secluded spot just off the road. They read Bible verses, shared their vows, and promised forever to each other in the most peaceful, sacred setting. Afterward, they celebrated with sushi—where Simonie, true to form, got soy sauce on her dress—and then drove back as snow began to fall.
The next morning, they woke up to a stunning snowy mountain view, marking the start of their greatest adventure yet.
